Theatre New Brunswick is pleased to welcome Lisa Anne Ross as director for this season’s TNB Young Company productions.

Ross brings a wealth of talent and experience to the company.  As a founder of Solo Chicken Productions and co-founder of the coop, she has been a fixture on the New Brunswick theatre scene for several years as a writer, director, instructor and organizer.

Ross will take over from long-time TNB Young Company director Tania Breen who has accepted a one term position to lead St. Thomas University’s Musical Theatre program, a division of the school’s Fine Arts curriculum.

“Lisa is a pillar of the theatre and arts community here in Fredericton and she brings with her an intense passion coupled with a delicious whimsical and creative mind that will undoubtedly bring the Young Company to life with heart, intelligence, and incredible creativity,” said TNB artistic director Thomas Morgan Jones. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the company and look forward to the collaborations ahead!”

In her new role, Ross will direct two touring productions as part of Theatre New Brunswick’s 2017-2018 season. A Herman Tale is an adaptation of the children’s book There and Back Again, A Herman Tale, by New Brunswick author Paul McAllister. This play will be produced for elementary school audiences. Goodbye Marianne by Irene Watts will be presented to middle and high school audiences to mark the 80th anniversary of The Night of Broken Glass.

TNB Young Company has been touring theatre productions to New Brunswick schools for more than 40 seasons.
